Once again we invite you to share in the appreciation of a wonderful array of musical talent and inspiring music through our live concerts. We begin with a vibrant mix of the Old World and the New and the Sacconi Quartet, followed by a first visit to TMS of Russian pianist, Katya Apekisheva, who brings us music of rich, contrasting flavour, including Beethoven's 'Moonlight' Sonata.
In December we look forward to the opportunity to hear the theorbo and the viola da gamba, with Poeticall Musicke's visit, including works by Purcell and Handel. We begin 2017 by welcoming the award winning young Danish quartet, The Nightingales, for their TMS debut. They will include lyrical and moving music from their native land by Nielsen and Langgaard.
Quite a few of you will have heard the outstanding violin playing of Jack Liebeck, both from his chamber performances at the North York Moors Festival and his concerto performances with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Orchestra of Opera North. We're delighted to welcome him, this time with his Paris-based Dali Piano Trio. Lovers of JS Bach will look forward to the closing concert of the season when one of today's rising stars, Tamsin Waley-Cohen, makes her first visit to TMS, playing her much loved 1721 'ex Fenyves' Stradivarius.
Last season all of our concerts were held in Stokesley Methodist Church and we are delighted to welcome you back to this warm and resonant venue, which seems to be very much appreciated by all our artists and increasing audience numbers. Our musicians always comment on the enthusiastic reception given to them and with your continued marvellous support the future for TMS is extremely bright.
We have a flexible choice of tickets with all the details on our website. Choose a season pass for all six concerts or get a discount on six single carnet tickets, which are valid for any concert. Bring a friend to two or three concerts if you cannot attend all six. It is advisable to buy a ticket in advance, but we usually have some available at the door.
We look forward to seeing you for another season of great music making, and as always, do bring a friend........or two!
